With Black Friday just around the corner, Steam has decided to throw their rather large hat into the ring and compete with pretty much everyone else for your undivided attention in the only way they know how - with deep discounts on a ton of games! "And how many games fit in a ton?" you may ask, to which the answer is apparently a whopping 13,203... and growing!
So if you feel like picking up a couple of new games at significantly discounted prices, head on over to Steam and prepare to lose a good couple of hours. And for those of you that have no idea what's even worth grabbing, allow me to give you a brief list of games that I would snap up if I didn't already own all of them. Here's the list:
Symmetra's long-awaited rework is now available for testing on the Overwatch PTR
- By Ash
- in News
It has only been a week since Sombra arrived to Overwatch, and already we're getting a brand new hero by the name of Symmetra! Now, some of you might argue that she was already in the game, but given that I hadn't seen her once in the past ~100 hours leads me to believe that was all an elaborate hoax by Blizzard.
If you're interested in an extremely detailed overview of Symmetra and the current state of Overwatch by none other than Jeff Kaplan himself, check out the video embedded right below. On the other hand, if you don't have 10 minutes to spare and are just looking for the short version, I'll also add the rather brief hero overview and patch notes. Have a look:
Killing Floor 2 Review - Its more of the same, but a whole lot better

- in Reviews
I've spent well over a hundred hours playing the original Killing Floor, a fact that I consider quite amusing given that I bought it by pure accident during a Steam Sale many moons ago. While I initially hated its guts due to the simplistic design and lack of any sort of story campaign, the Firebug class and its amazingly realistic flamethrower kept me from simply uninstalling it. But as time went by, and the pile of charred corpses grew ever larger, I completely forgot I was supposed to hate Killing Floor. I was having way too much fun to worry about such nonsense, and before I knew it, I was hooked!
Given how much I love the original I must admit I was rather ecstatic when I heard that Killing Floor 2 has finally left the confines of Early Access a couple of days ago. Could it possibly match the excellence of the original, what does it bring in terms of gameplay innovations, and more importantly, how glorious does the flamethrower look in these fancy new HD graphics? Well, let's go and find out!
GOG's Black Friday Sale has now begun, Limbo is free through GOG Connect

It has only been a little over a week since the last sale ended, and already GOG is back with yet another batch of discounts. This time around the special occasion is Black Friday, everyone's favorite excuse to act like a total maniac, but unlike GOG's previous sales this one is a bit smaller in scope.
So if you're up for restocking your backlog with some rather solid games, head over to GOG, but do keep in mind that the Black Friday Sale will only last for five days, until November 27. As an added little bonus, if you connect your GOG and Steam accounts together with the aptly named GOG Connect, you will also be able to claim a free copy of Limbo. And for those among you that aren't sure what's worth picking up, allow me to list out a couple of the better deals:

After being slightly delayed back in October, the new and improved Darksiders: Warmastered Edition is now available on the PS4 and Xbox One. As for the PC version, its slated to arrive next week, or to be more specific - November 29.
If you're interested in seeing what improvements THQ Nordic has managed to make in terms of graphics and effects, here's the recently posted trailer showcasing mostly console footage. As before, the trailer with PC gameplay will most likely arrive at some point next week, but even so, this one should give you a general idea of what to expect from the remastered Darksiders. Daedalic's Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun now has a free demo on Steam and GOG
- By Ash
- in Indie Games
Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun is a "hardcore tactical stealth game set in Japan around the Edo period", in which you'll need to control five loyal servants of the Shogun as they go out and ensure nationwide peace. What this means in reality is that you will need to go around the entirety of Japan and stab, slice, or explode people the Shogun doesn't like, all through the use of stealth and subterfuge as your motley crew is grossly outnumbered.
While I'm not sure whether I'm correct in my assumption or not, Shadow Tactics greatly reminds me of the old Commandos games, and that is a name I didn't expect to see when I woke up this morning. Have a look at one of the relatively recent developer-guided gameplay previews, you'll see what I mean:
Path of Exile's next big content update 'Breach' is set to arrive in two weeks

While Diablo 3 languishes due to a lack of support from Blizzard, Path of Exile is moving forward at an increasingly rapid pace. It has only been a couple of days since the last patch that brought with it massive performance improvements and new skills to toy around with, and already there is an even bigger patch on the horizon!
The aptly named Breach update brings with it two new leagues, each offering a fresh start and a brand new economy, as well as a variety of new events centered around... you guessed it, breaches! These portals into the shadow realm will spew forth a variety of monsters, and should you manage to not only beat them, but also destroy their overlord within his very domain, you will have a chance to grab a whole host of shiny new items. If you're a bit confused as to how all of this will work, here's a brief trailer to clue you in:
