Dota 2's Dueling Fates update has now added two new heroes and a massive amount of balance tweaks

After only being revealed two days ago, Dota 2's Dueling Fates update has now made its way to the live servers. It brings with it two brand new heroes to play around with, a ridiculous amount of balance changes spread across all aspects of the game, a couple of new items as well as the removal of Poor Man's Shield and Iron Talon, numerous hero reworks, mechanics changes, and the list goes on for quite a while.
There are far, far too many changes to cover in brief, so if you're interested in all of the details you'll find the full patch notes and overview at the official website. Just make sure you brew yourself a coffee before you head in as you're going to be stuck there for a rather long time. And no, that's not an exaggeration. It'll most likely take you over 30 minutes to go through all of the changes - there's just that many of them!
Call of Duty: WW2's latest trailer offers a quick look at the Carentan multiplayer map
- By Ash
- in News
Call of Duty: WW2 is set to arrive this November 3rd for PC and consoles, a mere two days from the time of writing. So if you're interested in seeing what sort of maps you'll be able to play around with, you might be glad to hear that the developers have now released a preview for a reworked version of Carentan, one of the most popular battlegrounds from Call of Duty 1 and 2.
There is unfortunately very little actual gameplay footage, at least not any that hasn't been heavily edited, but it should still give you a good idea of how the team has redesigned this iconic map. But enough blabber from me, have a look:
Guild Wars 2 is currently holding a vote for which player-designed weapons will make it in-game
- By Ash
- in News
After collecting well over 900 player-created designs, Guild Wars 2 developers have now narrowed down the 2017 Design-a-Weapon Contest to a mere 20 entries. You can head on over here to vote for your favorite concept, the three most popular of which will be making it in-game as fully fledged weapons!
Each person can only vote once and pick exactly one weapon, so think carefully before you press that submit button. Speaking of which, the poll will end on November 10th at 9am PDT, after which the developers will start working on bringing the most popular weapons to life... well, virtual life anyway. This is going to be a lengthy process, however, so be prepared to wait for a couple of months before they actually make it in-game.
You have two more days to grab Quake Champions, The Elder Scrolls Online, and The Elder Scrolls: Legends for $12 via Humble Monthly
- By Ash

The Humble Monthly Bundle is a $12 subscription service that instantly gives you access to one game (or in this case three), and then a whole bunch more when the next month rolls over. Last time around the featured game was just Rise of the Tomb Raider, while this time you have a combination of Quake Champions, The Elder Scrolls: Legends, and The Elder Scrolls Online.
Besides the game itself, Quake Champions also comes with 50 Shards, 100 Platinum, 2000 favor, as well as the Ranger and BJ champions. The Elder Scrolls Online brings with it an extra 750 Crowns, as well as 15 free days of the ESO Plus subscription. The last and slightly less impressive The Elder Scrolls: Legends bonus pack offers 2 Skyrim Card Packs, 1 Event Ticket, 100 Gold, and 100 Soul Gems. To be perfectly honest I have absolutely no idea how valuable any of these special currencies really are, but that does seem to be a lot of stuff for $12, so if you're interested in any of these games I'd say its well worth springing for.
Overwatch devs are nerfing Mercy, buffing Ana, and looking into reworking Hanzo
- By Ash
- in News
If you're sick and tired of Mercy being in every single game, Arcade or Competitive, you'll be glad to hear that Blizzard has announced some much-needed nerfs. According to the latest PTR patch Mercy's Resurrect will now take 1.75 seconds to complete, during which she will be slowed down by 75%. Knocking her back, stunning, hacking, or killing will result in the Resurrect failing and the ability going on cooldown. In other words, you will have to protect the Mercy or Resurrect is just going to result in another person dying!
As for Ana, you'll also be glad to hear that her damage is going up to 70! This might not sound like much, but that 10 damage increase gives her the ability to kill 200 HP heroes in three hits, and most importantly of all, it allows her to singlehandedly kill most sleeping targets. I'm not sure how much this is going to improve Ana's lacking winrate, but its certainly a step in the right direction, and one that I am very happy with.
Gwent's latest update has added new cards and a Halloween themed PvE event
- By Ash
- in News
After a myriad of teasers and 'leaks', Gwent's Halloween update has now finally arrived. There's 21 new cards to collect, both neutral and faction-specific, a variety of balance changes intended to increase the power level of struggling archetypes, and best of all, a singleplayer PvE event that rewards a new border and voiced avatar.
There are simply too many changes to cover in brief, so if you're interested in all of the details you should visit the official patch notes. What I will comment on is that Harpy and Restore can be scrapped for full value, so if you aren't planning to use them right away I would suggest dismantling them. You can always craft them later if you so desire, and at the same cost, so there really no reason to keep them around.
The Metroidvania brawler Guacamelee! 2 has been announced at Paris Games Week 2017
- By Ash

The original Guacamelee! is a highly enjoyable Mexican-themed brawler with more than a fair share of Metroidvania elements. Its all about wondering through a giant world, collecting new powers which you can use in combat and for exploration, dashing and jumping across any obstacles you might encounter, stringing together massive combos in order to exploit an enemy's weakness, and other fun stuff like that.
With all of that in mind, I hope you can now understand just how happy I am to say that Guacamelee! 2 has just been announced at Paris Games Week 2017! You can get a brief look at what Guacamelee! 2 has to offer via the recently posted teaser trailer. Have a gander:
