Warframe artwork for Chains of Harrow update

Warframe has always worked on a cycle between major and minor updates, and as you can guess from the title alone we're currently due for one of the major ones. The Chains of Harrow Update will be bringing with it a brand new Warframe by the name of (you guessed it) Harrow, a new story quest related to him, a remastered version of the Earth tileset, a new Grineer enemy, and the list goes on for quite a while.

While its appearance might not indicate this, Harrow is all about empowering himself and his teammates, rather than all-out aggression. He's capable of chaining enemies to the floor while reinforcing his shields, then sacrificing those shields to boost reload, fire rate, and lifesteal of himself and his allies. And if that wasn't supporty enough, he's also capable of channeling energy into his Thurible (a metal censer apparently), after which nearby kills will grant allies bursts of energy, with the bursts being much larger for headshot kills. Combine this with his ultimate that absorbs all damage while converting it to a critical chance bonus for allies and you've got yourself a frame that might not sound impressive, but in reality has a ton of potential.

In order to unlock Harrow you will need to complete the new story quest, the titular Chains of Harrow. However, before you're even capable of accepting the quest you will first need to complete The War Within and unlock Mot in the Void. If you're a seasoned player chances are you've done this ages ago, but if you're relatively new and interested in Harrow you might want to finish up your quests before the update arrives.

Speaking of which, Chains of Harrow will be released next week, though no specific date has been given just yet. If you would like to learn a little bit more, or just check out Harrow's abilities in actions, I would suggest going to the official website. And as a final note, here's a few images of the new Earth tileset:
