War for the Overworld - Heart of Gold expansion

War for the Overworld is a shameless spiritual successor to Dungeon Keeper, and even though it started off as a buggy mess the developers have managed to improve it to the point where you might as well consider it the unofficial Dungeon Keeper 3.

Speaking of improvements, War for the Overworld has just become enriched with a brand new expansion, Heart of Gold, and a comprehensive patch that brings forth a better tutorial system, combat rebalance, improved performance, and greatly enhanced enemy AI. Here's the completely cheesy trailer to give you an idea of what to expect:

Heart of Gold features an expanded story told across 4 new campaign levels, this time around through the perspective of a rival Underlord Kasita. These levels should be more open-ended than those found in the vanilla campaign, which should directly address the issues many had with the often 'forced' solutions. Since you are playing a different Underlord this time around you will have a different dungeon theme to enjoy as well. In other words, a new a Dungeon Core, tiles and walls, workers, and apparently the much-requested custom Hand of Evil.

Additionally, you will have four new Aspects to toy around with: Sentinel (defense), Gild (spell), Aureate Monolith (construct), and the golden titan himself - The Colossus. There will also be new terrains for you to march your armies across (some of which are seen in the trailer), various map editor features, and more.

Heart of Gold will set you back €8/$8, and if you're interested in the full patch notes for Update 1.4 you can find them on the Steam Store page.
