"Currently, our launch communication has been focused on addressing bug and balancing feedback, promoting Titanfall 2, and amplifying the incredible critical and fan reactions. We’ve heard your concerns loud and clear about the longevity of Titanfall 2 and what’s next for future content. Today we are starting that conversation.

First let’s look at the big picture and make a crucial point about our DLC vision crystal clear: All maps, modes, weapons —anything that has effect on gameplay— will be free for all players that bought Titanfall 2. We believe that in order to maintain a healthy community we shouldn’t be segmenting players behind paywalls for these things.

In addition to the free stuff, we will be opening a store in game with the launch of DLC #1 that will allow you to purchase new skins, camo and Prime Titans if you want for a modest price. We will have no in-game currency exchange. No locked loot boxes, crafting shards or pay-to-win weaponry. No RNG. If you see something you like, you buy it and that’s it. These in no way effect stats and are purely cosmetic. We will have two Prime Titans available at launch. They have new chassis and assassinations but function the exact same way as their original counterparts."

While there is an in-game store coming in with the Angel City update, it is worth repeating that all of the content found in this DLC will be freely available, and not up for sale. The store will only be used for cosmetic items, so unless you absolutely must be the biggest and brightest target on the entire battleground you will be perfectly fine if you ignore it completely.

As for the future, Respawn is promising even more updates and events (including double XP weekends, giveaways, and the like), all in order to encourage players to experiment with Titanfall 2's gameplay. There are unfortunately no announcements to share just yet, mostly because none of the content is ready for the spotlight, but the important thing is that "this is just the start" of Titanfall 2's journey.

If all of this got you interested in Titanfall 2, you can find it on a 33% discount over at Origin. Do bear in mind that this promotion will not last for very long, so if you're planning to get it, make sure you do it before November 29. Have fun!
