Much like all of CDPR's previous games, The Witcher 3 has drastically changed since it first launched. Many of the bugs that once used to plague it are now gone, the inventory system has received a complete overhaul, plenty of new free content has been added in, and most importantly, two massive expansions have increased the size of the world by a rather considerable margin.

Due to all of the changes and updates The Witcher 3 has received so far, installing it fresh from a disk has become a rather big annoyance as you also have to download nearly endless amounts of patches and extra content as well. With this in mind, it shouldn't come as much of a surprise to hear that CDPR has decided to release The Witcher 3 - Game of the Year Edition which comes with all of the expansions, free content, and patches.

What might surprise you, however, is that The Witcher 3 - GOTY is releasing at some point today! If you have no idea what The Witcher 3 is all about, or if you just want to have your memory refreshed, here's the recently posted GOTY trailer:

If you ask me, The Witcher 3 is one of the best RPGs ever created, so if you enjoy compelling storytelling and interesting characters, its well worth playing. On the other hand, if you're looking for a more detailed explanation on why exactly The Witcher 3 is so good, I've just recently posted an article going over all the reasons why you should try The Witcher 3. Give it a read if you're on the fence as I truly do believe The Witcher 3 is well worth your time.

As a final note, the GOTY Edition will be launching alongside Patch 1.30, a rather bugfixing orientated update. You can read the full patch notes by heading over here, but as you would expect, its a whole bunch of bug fixes and small quality of life improvements.
