In honor of Double Dragon's 30th anniversary developers Arc System Works have released Double Dragon 4, a sequel that might as well be an expansion pack to Double Dragon 2. It brings with it the same type of combat, the same retro 2D visuals, and naturally, a bunch of supposedly badass characters with ridiculously plain names such as Billy and Jimmy.

If you're wondering what all of this madness might look like in gameplay terms, here's the recently posted launch trailer. It should give you a pretty good idea of what Double Dragon 4 is all about. Have a look:

While I haven't tried it myself, most of the user reviews seem to repeat the same thing: if you're a fan of the classic Double Dragon games, you're going to enjoy this one as well. I would usually advise caution around any game that sells itself purely on nostalgia, but I am glad to say that the developers have priced Double Dragon 4 quite fairly given that its currently $7/€7. So if you're up for a trip down memory lane and would like to give oldschool beat 'em ups another spin, Double Dragon 4 seems to be a decent option.
