Fallout Shelter screenshot from the PC version

For those of you that might not be aware, Fallout Shelter is a surprisingly popular mobile base-building game that puts you in the shoes of a Vault-Tec Overseer and gives you a variety of tools to create a paradise for your fellow vault dwellers. It has been available on PC for quite a while now, but only from the Bethesda website which obviously lowered its visibility quite significantly.

As you can probably guess from the title, however, Fallout Shelter is now finally available on Steam as well. So if you're a fan of the Fallout unvierse and you're looking to burn a couple of hours you'll find the free download link over at Steam.

Besides the newly added Steam version Fallout Shelter's recent update has also brought with it 30 new quests, as well as a special, time-limited Easter event. By completing the in-game missions you can grab yourself an 'exclusive' Legendary Pet, a free lunchbox, and a variety of other rewards. Whether any of these goodies are actually useful, that I don't know, but free content is certainly something I can appreciate.

And finally, if you're looking for a brief overview of what Fallout Shelter is all about you'll find the relatively old launch trailer right below. It doesn't showcase any of the new changes and features, but it should still give you a good idea of what to expect.
