Mirage: Arcane Warfare official promo artwork

Following the success of Chivalry: Medieval Warfare, Torn Banner Studios have decided to take things to the next extreme by creating Mirage: Arcane Warfare. As you can probably guess from the name alone, it features plenty of hand to hand combat and ridiculous dismemberment physics, all spiced up with a hearty dosage of fireballs and magical explosions.

Mirage is still currently in its early stages, but if you would like to have your voice heard throughout the development process you'll be happy to know that the closed alpha test will begin in September. Before we move on to the whole sign up process, its probably for the best if you check out a relatively recent gameplay trailer in order to get a good idea of what Mirage: Arcane Warfare is really all about:

As you can see from the gameplay video, Mirage is still a bit clunky and rough around the edges, so if that isn't the type of gameplay you're willing to tolerate its probably for the best if you wait until the open beta, or even the release. On the other hand, if you're willing to ignore some of the flaws in order to try out Mirage before everyone else, you simply need to sign up by heading over here. Not everyone is going to get in through the first wave, that much should be obvious, but according to the developers they currently have 40,000 people signed up and are looking for even more, so at the very least it does appear that everyone will get a chance to try out the alpha.

I also have some bad, or perhaps good news depending on your perspective - Mirage has been delayed until the first quarter of 2017 in order to ensure its as polished as it can possibly be. While this does mean it will arrive a couple of months later than originally planned, it also means its going to be a much more enjoyable game, so I'd say that the trade off is perfectly fair when it comes these sort of delays.

If you would like to learn a bit more about Mirage: Arcane Warfare, or just check out some screenshots and gameplay videos, I would recommend you head over to the official website. And good luck with the alpha invite!
