As far as management/simulator games go the Tropico series has always been one of the more interesting ones. This isn't because its mechanics and systems are so good they simply cannot be matched by other games, but rather because it tackles a completely unique concept: ruling over a banana republic.

Given the success of the previous games in the series (including Tropico 5 which is currently on sale) it shouldn't come as a surprise to hear that during this year's E3 the developers announced a brand new sequel. The rather plainly named Tropico 6 will bring with it the largest landmass the series has seen so far, a revised research and political system, cooperative and competitive multiplayer, as well as various improvements to all of the elements you'll find throughout the entire series.

Tropico 6 has only just been announced so there is very little information available, but if you're interested in learning a few more tidbits I would recommend heading over to either the official website or Steam. As for the release date, Tropico 6 will be coming to PC, Mac, Linux, PS4, and Xbox One in 2018, though no specific date has been given just yet. And finally, if you need a little bit of a sneak peek at what exactly Tropico 6 will be all about, allow me to send you off with the announcement trailer:
