As you might imagine from the name alone, the Synthetic Dawn story pack is entirely focused on the various robotic factions. It allows you to fully customize your robotic civilization and follow a new chain of story events to transform your mechanical race into an intergalactic AI dominion, oppressed synths can now rebel against their masters and form new empires, and there's even a fallen synthetic civilization just waiting to be discovered in the cold depths of space.

To learn more about Synthetic Dawn and all of the features it brings I would recommend heading over to either Steam or the Paradox website. If you don't actually own Stellaris, however, you might be glad to hear that its currently on a 60% discount on Steam. Its certainly not a game for everyone, but if you're into Paradox strategy games such as Crusader Kings and Europa Universalis chances are you'll have a blast with Stellaris as well.
