Subnautica's Sea Emperor Leviathan monster

Subnautica's release date might be getting constantly pushed back, but at least the developers are equally consistent when it comes to releasing rather large updates. The latest one of these, Voice of the Deep, has now arrived on Steam, bringing with it new areas to explore, a variety of better models and textures, improvements to the Cyclops, a couple of intriguing additions surrounding the massive Sea Emperor Leviathan, and so on.

If you're interested in a brief overview of some of these changes you'll find the recently posted preview video right below. The video unfortunately doesn't show off the Sea Emperor Leviathan, but given that he's a part of the 'end-game' I guess that's probably for the best. Anyway, here's the video:

A lot of minor features and improvements have been added in through the Voice of the Deep Update, and if you're interested in all of the details you will find what you seek on the official website. As for Subnautica's constantly shifting release date, the current plans have it pinned for September or October, though I wouldn't be surprised to hear about more delays given that performance is still a bit of a sore spot on anything that isn't a high-end PC. And finally, if you want a sneak peek at all of the things to come you should check out the official roadmap, though if you want to completely avoid spoilers and go in blind its probably a good idea to avoid it for now. Long story short, there are some really interesting things coming in the near future!
