Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants In Manhattan has been officially announced by Platinum Games

This announcement doesn't come as a massive surprise given that there was a leak from a ratings website a little while back that told us of the existence of an upcoming TMNT game but now we finally have an actual glimpse of the game itself.

The upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants In Manhattan is being made by Platinum Games, most famous for Bayonetta and Metal Gear Rising: Revengenace, and is set to arrive in the summer of 2016. Here's the announcement trailer:

After watching the atrocious Michael Bay TMNT movie I have to say I was dreading even looking at this trailer in fear of having yet another slap against one of my childhood's favorite cartoon shows. Thankfully that feeling was short lived as the trailer was really well done, overused BAM BAM BAM music aside.

What little of the cartoony violence you can see in the trailer seems both colorful and quite impactful so my hopes for a TMNT game that doesn't suck are quite high right now. It also helps that Platinum Games is behind it because aside from their budget Legend of Korra game all they've done has been a series of extremely good spectacle fighters, a genre that a TMNT game should fit in really well.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants In Manhattan will be arriving this summer to PC & Xbox though no actual release date was given.
