Even a few years ago it was incredibly hard to find good JRPGs on PC, simply because big publishers didn't believe there was any sort of market for it - a 'fact' they could easily verify by just looking at how few JRPGs the PC has. Thankfully, that cycle of despair is now quickly being broken apart, as you can easily notice by the growing library of Nihon Falcom games on Steam.

Best of all, according to an interview TechRaptor conducted with Nihon Falcom president Toshihiro Kondo the company is aiming to release all of their games (both future and past) on Steam! Here's the full quote:

"We have no hesitation about releasing games on Steam. Rather, given that we don’t have a large staff, we mainly have to rely [on] partners to help us realize a PC port. When we first started releasing games on Steam, we were initially unsure of whether or not players would want to play our older games. However, as we gradually released games on Steam and saw the very positive reaction that was much greater than we expected, we feel like we want all of our games that come out to [release] on Steam."

The next Nihon Falcom game to arrive on Steam will be The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel, due in slightly over one week. What happens after that is anybody's guess, but the important thing is that we'll be getting a whole bunch of interesting games on PC at some point in the future, and that is always great news!
