What little information I've been able to gleam about the upcoming Space Hulk: Deathwing, a Warhammer 40k themed shooter, has mostly revolved around the singleplayer campaign. However, after many months of waiting Focus Home Interactive has finally release some details on Deathwing's five co-op classes, as well as a couple of screenshots showcasing the Space Marines in action.
Before we move on to the multiplayer, allow me to first show you the one and only gameplay trailer for Space Hulk: Deathwing, just so you can get a good idea of what the Warhammer 40k world is all about:
As you might expect from a game based around Space Marines, Space Hulk: Deathwing's co-op mode will heavily focus on team-based tactics and unique abilities. For example, the Librarian is able to fight off the Genestealers with either his trusty Storm Bolter or by harnessing his substantial psychic powers in order to unleash the warp itself on all that stand before him. The Heavy Weapon Support brings with it the assault cannon, a weapon that is capable of blasting straight through hordes of monsters, leaving very little in its wake.
The Apothecary, much like the name would suggest, is equipped with an array of surgical instruments designed to keep the squad alive... and occasionally slice up the particularly brazen Genestealer. The Assault Class is your standard melee-orientated brawler that's capable of either slicing and dicing through enemy ranks with power claws, or holding the line with the equally deadly shield and power mace combo. Finally, the Tactician is your main support on the team, fully equipped with a array of nifty tools and gadgets to make sure that the Genestealers never get an upper hand.
While I would wish I could tell you more, there simply isn't anything else to announce just yet. I would imagine we're going to get further information soon enough, however, as Space Hulk: Deathwing is set to release this November.
And finally, here are all of the nifty new images showcasing the various Space Marines in the heat of battle:
