After the completely inconsequential 'exploration' in Mass Effect 2 and 3 you'll be glad to hear that Bioware is taking Mass Effect: Andromeda in a much more interesting direction. Instead of fiddling with a scanner from the safety of your ship you will be able to take your Nomad rover down onto the planet's surface and see what there is to see for yourself. As a result of this there will be a lot less planets to visit, but each of them will have a lot more unique places to explore, and not just one research base the story takes place in.

If you're wondering what all of this might look like in gameplay terms, you'll find the recently posted "Exploration & Discovery" video down below. And don't worry about spoilers as all of the story content has been cut out of the video, so you'll only get a few brief glimpses at the overall narrative. Anyway, have a look:

On the other hand, if you would like to learn more about Mass Effect: Andromeda's combat you'll find the first gameplay preview video by heading over here. It features a brief overview of all the basic combat mechanics, skills and their effects on the battlefield, as well as a variety of weapons in action. And if you would like to delve even further into the combat system you'll find the second preview video right here. This one is mostly focused around squad based tactics, gameplay and weapon variety, skill combinations, and player profiles. Enjoy!
