Fortnite official artwork without logo

Fortnite is Epic's upcoming "action building game" that combines elements from a wide variety of genres. You need to scavenge for materials and weapons as if you were playing an open-world survival game, you need to craft traps and fortifications as if you were playing a tower defense game, and amidst all of that you also have to carve your path through hordes upon hordes of strange critters in order to solve quests as if you're playing some sort of run & gun shooter.

Its a strange combination, but from everything I've seen so far its surprisingly compelling. While the recently posted launch trailer won't exactly show you what Fortnite plays like, it will give you a pretty damn good look at its personality and gameplay style, so I would recommend checking it out if you're interested. Have a look:

If all of this looks like something you might get a kick out off, you'll be glad to hear that Fortnite will be heading to early access on July 25th. However, if you decide to pre-order the somewhat pricier Founder's Pack you will get a four-day head start beginning on July 21st, as well as some in-game cosmetics to show off with. I'm not one to usually talk about early access games, but after watching a couple of lengthy gameplay videos I'm genuinely surprised this is still in beta - it looks almost finished! So if you would like to give it a try, or just learn a little bit more, you should head over to the official website.
