Dawn of War 3's Ork from the trailer

If you don't know much about the Warhammer 40k world, it is best to imagine the Orks as a horde of idiots that only have one single goal in their rather short lives - constant fighting! Unfortunately for everyone else in the universe they are not only damn good at fighting, but they actually grow in both power and size while doing so, making them one of the most dangerous races humanity of the far-flung future has ever had to contend with.

As such, it shouldn't come as much of a surprise to hear that they are equally as stupid, and equally as aggressive in the upcoming Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 3. But if you're interested in all of the different units and their 'roles' in the Orkish army, here's the recently posted IGN First gameplay preview that showcases just that:

While the action does look pretty damn good, I can't shake the feeling that this isn't really the Dawn of War 2 sequel many of us were clamoring for. If anything, it seems that Dawn of War 3 is following in Starcraft 2's footsteps by featuring vast armies of expandable units, whereas Dawn of War 2 is mostly about smaller amount of units, but with more firepower behind each one. Whether this new system is going to be an improvement over the old one, its far too early to say, but given Relic's previous RTS experience we can at least be certain that Dawn of War 3 is going to be quite interesting to play.

If you would like to learn more, or just look up a couple of other gameplay videos, head on over to the official website. As for the launch date, Dawn of War 3 is still set to arrive at some point in 2017, though the exact date hasn't been announced just yet.
