The Talos Principle robot with cat

RockPaperShotgun recently reported on a rumor that they heard from a guy, who heard from another guy that Croteam is working on The Talos Principle 2... yeah, not the most credible of sources.

As it turns out, however, all of it was completely true and the Serious Sam developers Croteam are indeed working on a sequel for their philosophical puzzle game The Talos Principle, as confirmed by their official Twitter:

Yes, "Talos Principle 2 is going to happen" confirmed by @AlenL @Croteam on stage @NordicGame 2016!

While this might sound a bit bizarre, especially given that Croteam is mostly known for their 'brainless' shooters, I'm rather looking forward to The Talos Principle 2. The first one managed to appeal to me despite my complete disdain for puzzle games and their moon-logic, mostly because it allowed you to 'cheat' through clever use of game mechanics, but also because the story was captivating enough to keep me going ever forward.

I would love to offer you some more information about the upcoming sequel, but unfortunately that tiny tweet up there is the current summary of all the available data, so you're just going to have to wait a little while for The Talos Principle 2 to get officially announced.

Oh, and if you're a fan of the Serious Sam series there's nothing to worry about, Serious Sam 4 is still in production and the development of The Talos Principle will not affect it in any negative fashion.
