Battleborn system requirements and gameplay elements have been announced

Battleborn is an upcoming multiplayer FPS/MOBA hybrid that's being developed by Gearbox Software, the folks behind Borderlands and other such hits like Aliens: Colonial Marines.

With the open beta looming just beyond the horizon, the developers have decided to unleash an entire avalanche of Battleborn gameplay and story information, as well as what sort of a system you'll need to run it.

First of all, there is almost no chance of me cowering all of the gameplay features and still having a good night's sleep today, so if its information that you seek, head over the the official roundup on the 2K blog.

As for the PC system requirements, here they are, but do note that 4K and "different" displays are not supported during the beta:

Minimum System Requirements:

• OS: Windows 7 x64-Bit or Later

• CPU: Intel i5-750 / AMD Phenom IIx4 945

• RAM: 6 GB

• Hard Drive: 30 GB free

• Video Memory: 1 GB

• Minimum Required Video Card: AMD HD 6870/ NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 or better, PhysX support

Recommended System Requirements:

• OS: Windows 7 x64-Bit or Later

• CPU: Intel i5-750 / AMD Phenom IIx4 945

• RAM: 6 GB

• Hard Drive: 50 GB free

• Video Memory: 2 GB

• Recommended Video Card: AMD HD 7850/ NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 or better, PhysX support

If you prefer to play FPS games with a controller, in which case I applaud your bravery for doing so against mouse & keyboard opponents, you'll be happy to know that Battleborn fully supports Xbox One and PS4 controllers, with Steam Controller integration coming closer to launch.

As a final, and rather interesting note, there is an official Battleborn comic out there that aims to introduce you to the world and its lore. Only the first chapter is available right now, but its well drawn and presented in a nifty way, so if you have even a shred of interest in Battleborn, I'd suggest you check it out.

Battleborn's open beta will be launching on April 8 for the PS4, and April 9 for everyone else, with the closing date set for April 18.
