The Wandering Village screenshot of the dinosaur from afar

[Update]: The Wandering Village has now stomped its way into Early Access, and so far it's been enjoying mostly positive reviews from the players.

In a bit of an interesting twist on the whole city-building genre, The Wandering Village will you have create a thriving civilization on the back of an absolutely gigantic, dinosaur-like beast! From there your choices will be to either live in harmony with the beast and work together towards the betterment of all, or focus primarily on your own villagers and let the beast fend for itself.

Whatever your choice may be you'll have to grow and gather an assortment of resources in order to keep your humble village running, send out expeditions into the remnants of the ruined world in search of useful technology, as well as handle unique threats that come with each biome the gentle giant decides to wonder through. What this looks like in actual gameplay, however, that you can check out through the reveal trailer below:

I hope you're in the mood for some more Bugsnax branded weirdness, because both Bugsnax and its hefty free expansion The Isle of Bigsnax have now landed onto Steam! The Isle of Bigsnax brings with it a newly discovered island filled with massive species of Bugsnax, a bunch of new quests and challenges to undertake, as well as a whole host of cosmetics to play around with, including tiny little hats to give your Bugsnax friends!

Just how adorable these hats truly are, as well as what the actual gameplay looks like, that you can find out through the recently posted overview trailer. Have a gander:

Rogue Legacy 2 official artwork and logo

After spending nearly two years in Early Access, the rogue-lite action-adventure Rogue Legacy 2 has now finally been unleashed alongside a chunky update. Version 1.0 brings with it a couple of new bosses to fight against, two new character classes to send to their doom, a significant overhaul and rebalance of existing content, and naturally, an actual ending!

There's far, far too many changes to cover in brief, so if you're interested in all of the details you can find what you seek over at the official patch notes. If you just want the short version, however, here's a brief trailer showing off what Rogue Legacy 2's launch version has to offer:

[Update]: Deep Rock Galactic's Season 3 - Plaguefall update has added fancy new grenades, enemy variants and mission objectives.

I hope you're in the mood for frenzied robots, frantic screaming and fancy beards, because Deep Rock Galactic's chunky Season 2 update has now arrived. The star attraction this time around is a new event that will task you with hacking a competitor's communications hub, an act that will draw in quite a few murder-bots for you to ruthlessly swat out of the sky!

There's also a brand new mini-boss that is just dying to give you a hug, as well as four new secondary weapons to toy around with. Scout gets a new crossbow, the engineer a heavy 'shard diffractor', the gunner a high-powered pistol, and the driller a submachine gun that looks more like a death-ray than anything else!

Warpips official artwork with the logo

Seemingly inspired by flash games of old, Warpips is a freshly released strategy game that's all about unleashing waves upon waves of disposable troops and machinery upon your opponents in order to overwhelm them. It's essentially a high-stakes game of tug-of-war, with a variety of upgrades and randomized elements thrown in to help spice everything up.

What all of this madness looks like in actual gameplay, that you can check out through the launch trailer below. Have a gander:

Peglin official artwork and logo

To put it quite bluntly, Peglin is what happens when you take Peggle's orb-chucking gameplay and mix in some random encounters and progression elements to help spice everything up. The end result, as I've detailed in my preview, is a surprisingly interesting and addictive little rogue-like, even if the Early Access version is somewhat limited in terms of content.

You can get a pretty good idea of what all of this looks like in action, as well as how the gameplay even works, through the recently posted launch trailer. Have a gander:

The Iron Oath official artwork and logo

[Update]: My review for The Iron Oath is now out, and in short it's a promising turn-based strategy, though still quite rough around the edges.

The Iron Oath is a freshly released turn-based strategy that's all about running a mercenary company. As you might expect from description that alone, in The Iron Oath you'll need to gear up and mentor a wide assortment of mercenaries, pick and choose contracts that will give you the greatest benefits without angering any of the big factions around you, and naturally, do whatever you can to not end up without the gold to pay your crew!

Things take a bit of a Darkest Dungeon twist once you get to the actual moment-to-moment gameplay. As you explore sprawling dungeons in search of precious loot you'll have to contend with rapidly dwindling resources, demoralized party members, and injuries that just keep piling on and on. So as tempting as the various contracts might be, you'll have to carefully weigh your options and see whether they're actually worth the very real risk to your mercenaries.

Cook Serve Forever screenshot of the character dialogue

[Update]: Cook Serve Forever will be heading into Early Access on May 8th, and it'll likely stay there eight to ten months.

When it comes to cooking and restaurant management games, the Cook, Serve, Delicious series is certainly an outlier. While the food is colorful and the music upbeat, the actual world these games take place in is a near-apocalyptic nightmare where your can even get shot at by rival cooking gangs!

So in an effort to explore that kind of bizarre universe, the Vertigo Gaming team has just announced a brand new spin-off - Cook Serve Forever. Even though cooking will still play a major part in Cook Serve Forever, the focus this time around seems to be on telling a dramatic, fully voiced story with plenty of sidequests to help you explore the solarpunk city of Helianthus.

Bugsnax: The Isle of Bigsnax artwork and logo

[Update]: The Isle of Bigsnax expansion has now arrived, and while it's not exactly lengthy, it's still a pretty fun ride.

If you're itching for some more Bugsnax weirdness to delve into, mark April 28th on your calendar as that's when the completely free The Isle of Bigsnax expansion will be launching. You can expect to see a newly risen island filled with massive species of Bugsnax, an assortment of new quests and challenges, hundreds of decorations for your house, and most importantly of all, cute little hats you can give your Bugsnax friends to wear!

In order to access the new content you'll first need to complete all of Snorpy Fizzlebean's quests, after which he'll contact you with a matter of grave importance. If you've already completed the game, however, simply loading up your save file will put you before the point of no return and you'll be able to go through all of the new stuff without having to replay any of the old.

Vampire Survivors official artwork and logo

[Update]: Vampire Survivors' May 2022 update has added an in-game shop, a trippy boss fight, and many secrets.

After being teased for a couple of weeks, Vampire Survivors has now finally added Arcanas and with them a whole new level of power creep. To put it simply, Arcanas are gameplay-altering power-ups that can make certain stats cycle between very low and insanely high values, unlock new mechanics like critical hits on specific weapons, or even just make your projectiles explode!

You can pick one Arcana at the very start of the run, and then you'll get to choose from additional ones randomly through treasure chests. There are only six Arcanas to browse through right now, though more will be added in future updates.
