Like many games that draw inspiration from Dark Souls, Immortal Planet is an action-RPG with challenging combat that rewards patience and timing rather than reckless aggression. Given the difficulty curve it is highly likely that you will find yourself dying, and dying a lot, but as long as you can reach the same place again death will be nothing more than a learning experience.

If you're wondering how all of this translates into gameplay, allow me to share with you the recently posted launch trailer. Its not very long, but it will still give you a good idea of just what kind of ARPG Immortal Planet really is. Have a look:

As you might expect given the genre, all of the enemies and bosses you'll be fighting against will have clearly defined moves you will have to pay close attention to in order to not only stay alive, but also counter with ruthless efficiency. Along your journey you will also find new items and spells to toy around with, each of which brings with it a slightly unique playstyle, as well as hints and teasers for the overall narrative. Long story short, Immortal Planet is a Souls-like RPG, with all of the benefits and flaws that brings with it.

If all of this sounds like its up your alley, you might want to keep an eye on Immortal Planet as it will be releasing next week, on July 28th. To learn more I would suggest going over to either Steam or the official website. And finally, here's a couple of images:
