Dark Souls bonfire artwork with a knight sitting in the shadows

To most Dark Souls players the wretched swamps of Blighttown are one of the worst areas in the known universe. I can certainly understand why given that its easy to fall into pits, get poisoned by voodoo midgets, or just plain ol' ravaged by hellhounds.

Even with all of that considered, however, I still consider Blighttown to be one of the best designed areas in all of Dark Souls. There are plenty of secrets to uncover, difficult enemies to test your skills against, and best of all, a whole bunch of creative ways to dispatch said enemies. It is a challenging area, that's for sure, but as you'll see in the video below it is also an incredibly fun one as well:

Shadow Warrior 2 shotgun gameplay

Shadow Warrior 2 is one of the most ridiculous FPS games I've played in quite a while, a fact that shouldn't come as much of a surprise if you've ever laid your hands on the series. And as you would expect, the same brand of 'humor' is back once again to plague the world with endless wang puns!

Since its hard to judge whether Shadow Warrior 2 is any good from trailers alone, I've prepared a ~15 minute gameplay video showcasing pretty much everything you can do during an average mission. Have a look, and I hope you don't mind chainsaws or wast quantities of explosions:

World of Warcraft: Legion Demon Hunter warglaives

Mythic Keystone Dungeons are the hardest form of 5-man content currently present in World of Warcraft: Legion. Their scaling difficulty is more than enough to provide a challenge for even the most seasoned of veterans, but at the same time they offer some of the best gear you can possibly obtain, so its definitely worth giving them a shot!

If you're wondering what these Mythic Keystone Dungeons might look like, and whether this is something you can even attempt yourself, here's brief gameplay video that showcases how me and my group managed to demolish Maw of Souls so hard we ended up with three chests at the end. In other words, don't worry about the difficulty and just throw yourself in there - its pretty fun! Anyway, here's the video:

Battlerite's Pyro and Croak characters artwork

Battlerite is a spiritual successor to the once excellent Bloodline Champions, and as such it contains the same diverse set of characters, the same intricate balance, and most importantly, the same skill-based combat system. While it does feature the same gameplay mechanics as Bloodline Champions, Battlerite is not a boring ol' clone as it brings with it numerous improvements to both the gameplay and the visuals.

In order to give you an idea of what Battlerite is all about I've prepared a brief gameplay video showcasing two matches with my favorite character - Croak, the Ranid Assassin. Expect to see plenty of poison, jumping around, and a whole bunch of opponents running for their lives! Have a look:

Sorcery! Part 4 screenshow showcasing the citadel

Sorcery! Part 4 - The Crown of Kings is a story focused adventure/RPG with an intriguing narrative, some unique and interesting characters that can't be described in a single cliche, a world that consistently follows its own rules, and most importantly, the ability to make a personal impact on the story.

Since there aren't that many games like it, especially not these days, I've made a brief gameplay video to show you what exactly Sorcery! is all about. The footage you'll be watching is the first 20 minutes from The Crown of Kings, so don't worry too much about spoilers as this is only a tiny slice of the entire game. Here's the video:

Stardust Galaxy Warriors character screenshot from up close

Stardust Galaxy Warriors: Stellar Climax might have a completely ridiculous name, but behind it hides a rather impressive shoot 'em up. It features numerous weapons to choose from, five playable ships that you can either pilot solo or in local co-op, lovely backgrounds to look at as you blow away thousands of aliens, and most importantly, some kick ass music!

If you're wondering what all of this looks like in action, well, wonder no more as I've prepared a brief gameplay video to show you exactly that. The footage below is from one of the challenge modes, as such its a bit different from the campaign itself, but it should still give you a general idea of what to expect from Stardust Galaxy Warriors. Have a look:

World of Warcraft: Legion screenshot of Darkheart Thicket

World of Warcraft's Legion expansion represents a massive departure from Warlords of Draenor and a return to a more "classic" World of Warcraft. As you might expect, this shift in design philosophy has drastically improved World of Warcraft's gameplay, so much so that it once again feels fresh and interesting.

If you're an old player simply looking to see if WoW is once again the game for you, or even if you're a brand new player trying to figure out what in the world all of this is about, here's a gameplay video to hopefully give you the answers you need. The footage below features one of Legion's early leveling dungeons, Darkheart Thicket, so don't worry about any important spoilers and just enjoy the Demon Hunter gameplay.

A screenshot from Obduction showing the contrast between the normal and alien

Obduction is Cyan's spiritual successor to the long-lasting Myst series. As you might expect, this means that Obduction features some extremely beautiful environments, a mysterious and compelling story, and naturally, a whole slew of hellishly difficult puzzles for you to wrack your brain against.

Since puzzle-adventures tend to be notoriously difficult to get into, allow me to give you a glimpse at Obduction's gameplay so that you can decide whether its the sort of thing you're interested in or not. The gameplay video below features the first 30 minutes, including brief story bits, but I wouldn't worry too much about spoilers as I've intentionally avoided the difficult puzzles and massive revelations. The Witcher 3 Geralt and witches screenshot

When it comes to open world RPGs The Witcher 3 is my gold standard for quality. The game-world is absolutely massive and the majority of the locations are well worth visiting; the graphics are some of the best you will encounter in any game today; the characters are well written and quite complex; and most importantly, none of the side-quests are designed to waste your time by making you collect a dozen bear asses. That doesn't mean you are going to save any time, however, as The Witcher 3 has already robbed me of well over a hundred hours, and because I hate seeing other people have free time I would like for you to discover how fun it is as well.

Since showcasing this through words alone is pretty much impossible, allow me to instead present you with a bit of gameplay. The video below contains a single, random quest I encountered in the middle of nowhere and like the majority of the classics it all begins with a giant wolf, a fat man, and a bleeding tree. Have a look, its a rather entertaining one:

No Man's Sky's space ship and station

No Man's Sky is an exploration orientated adventure game that simply asks of you to head out into the universe and see what is there to see. While the various screenshots and trailers may paint it as this vast and complex game with nearly infinite possibilities, the unfortunate reality is that No Man's Sky is actually somewhat mediocre.

Given the amount of pre-launch excitement No Man's Sky managed to gather I can understand if that statement is a bit of a shock to you, but allow me to prove it by showing you an average 15 minute slice of gameplay. In the video below you'll see abandoned stations, plenty of exploration and flying around, crafting, and naturally combat as well, so hopefully you'll leave with a better understanding of No Man's Sky and whether its the sort of game you'd enjoy or not.
