[Update]: Minecraft Dungeons has now added cross-platform multiplayer, with saves coming soon.
When the Diablo inspired Minecraft Dungeons launched for PC and consoles back in May, Mojang immediately announced that they are working on cross-play support. Quite a few months have gone by since then, but I'm happy to say I bring good news from that front!
According to the recent and rather brief announcement, cross-platform play will arrive this November 17th for all versions: PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. And as you might expect, this means you'll be able to join forces and play together regardless of what platform you're on.
The surprisingly turn-based Yakuza: Like a Dragon has now been unleashed

[Update]: Yakuza studio's action-adventure Judgment and its sequel have now suddenly landed onto PC.
I hope you're up for something a bit out of the ordinary, because the freshly released Yakuza: Like a Dragon has decided to really mix things up. Instead of sticking with the brawler/action-based combat system like its predecessors, Yakuza: Like a Dragon has opted to go with turn-based combat most similar to JRPGs.
While that might sound like pure lunacy, in practice it actually works pretty darn well! As such, even though it's drastically different from the rest of the series in terms of raw gameplay, Yakuza: Like a Dragon is still a proper Yakuza game, and a highly entertaining one at that. So if you're a fan of the series and don't mind the new direction, it's well worth looking into.
Friday the 13th: The Game's very final update has now removed Dedicated Servers
- By Ash
- in News
Due to a whole bunch of legal nonsense that's not worth even getting into, Friday the 13th: The Game ended up having to stop all of its content updates. And with the continued rise of competitors like Dead By Daylight, this quickly resulted in Friday the 13th losing most of its playerbase.
With all of that in mind, it should sadly come as no surprise to hear that Friday the 13th's very final update has now arrived. It brings with it a couple of balance changes and bug fixes, and most importantly of all, the discontinuation of dedicated servers in favor of purely peer to peer multiplayer.
Oldschool horror-action games BloodRayne 1 and 2 are getting an HD remaster this November 20th

After the unbelievably awful 2005 movie, the BloodRayne series slowly faded away into obscurity. Quite a few years have gone by since then, which is why I'm both shocked and pleased to announce that BloodRayne 1 and 2 are soon getting HD remasters!
BloodRayne 1 and 2's Terminal Cut edition will be launching this November 20th for PC, and will bring support for 4K resolutions along with improved rendering with up to 4x anti-aliasing. You can also expect to see support for modern gamepads, upscaled cinematic videos, improvements to the lighting engine, uncompressed original textures, as well as a variety of graphical tweaks to reflections, water, fog and shadows.
Apex Legends is bringing in massive and positive changes to the controversial Battle Pass

[Update #2]: Apex Legends' festive Holo-Day Bash event is launching this December 1st alongside the Winter Express mode.
[Update]: Apex Legends has fixed the horribly grindy Weekly Challenges and given everyone 10 free Levels.
Despite the massive Season 7 update that brought in a new map, legend and a ton of changes to all aspects of gameplay, most of the conversation within the Apex Legends community is currently focused on the Battle Pass and how much it sucks. And rightly so given that the Battle Pass has taken the "triple everything" approach with its new redesign and has thus become unbelievably grindy.
If you're wondering just how grindy we're talking about, then the best example is the daily quest that requires you to survive for 75 minutes, which doesn't include queue times, loading times, or any time spent dead. So if you're an average player and not simply hiding in a corner the whole game, this daily quest alone can take you upwards of two hours, which is just ridiculous!
Assassin's Creed Valhalla has now arrived, and unsurprisingly, it's pretty good

[Update #2]: After two years of exclusivity, Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed Valhalla has now landed onto Steam.
[Update]: Ubisoft has announced they're working on the next big Assassin's Creed game - Assassin's Creed Mirage.
If you're in the mood for a gigantic open world game that can absolutely devour your free time, you might be happy (or perhaps horrified) to hear that Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed Valhalla has now been unleashed. In Valhalla you will spend most of your time smashing enemies around with numerous weapons, exploring the world in search of various collectibles, building up your settlement and getting to know your fellow vikings, and most importantly of all, engaging in the occasional bout of insult-fighting to help pass the time.
As for what exactly all of this nonsense looks like in actual moment-to-moment gameplay, that you can find out through one of the developer-guided previews. Have a gander, but do be warned, it's a fairly long video:
World of Warcraft hotfix has sorted out some of the major balance issues with the pre-patch

[Update]: My Shadowlands review is now live, and I'm happy to say things are looking pretty good for WoW!
In order to pave the way for the upcoming expansion, World of Warcraft has recently introduced the Shadowlands pre-patch. It brought with it a whole assortment of cosmetic customization, a massively revamped leveling system along with a level squish from 120 to 50, as well as ton of balance changes and class tweaks.
Naturally, whenever there is a large influx of new changes, chances are there are going to be some really broken things slipping through the cracks. While the Shadowlands pre-patch was not spared this fate, I do have some good news to offer as Blizzard has just released a sizable hotfix in order to sort out most of the major problems.
